Emergency Grant for Foreign Students in Canada
COVID-19 has affected the lives of everyone. Millions have lost their jobs. Students have been hit hard during this pandemic.
Normally, international students in Canada can work up to 20 hours per week. During the pandemic, they are permitted to work longer hours in certain essential sectors. Despite this change, thousands of international students might be vulnerable as employment opportunities for them are limited at best.
Knowledge, Education and Training Canada (KEATCA) recognizes poverty as a barrier to development and supports individuals in accessing education and training at post-secondary level. KEATCA provides grants to individuals who meet these two basic criteria: -
a. Have an annual family income of less than $30,000 Canadian or its equivalent in terms of purchasing power parity, and
b. Are enrolled in a public post-secondary institution in Canada.
KEATCA is offering a one- time $500 for up to 20 students as emergency grant to assist foreign students in Canada, who fulfill the above-mentioned conditions.
