In 2015, the fund generously donated $2000 towards my tuition for a program at Simon Fraser University, a gift that made a huge difference in my life. I am a single mother to an amazing 9-year-old boy. My son struggles with learning and behavioural challenges and the costs of learning assistance and therapy add to the financial burden of being a working solo mother.
In order to have the flexibility I need to be able to support him, I was working in a variety of different jobs, freelancing and editing, bookkeeping and writing part time for an environmental organization. I was exhausted, working day and night, and still running myself into debt trying to make ends meet. I knew that I wanted to work in the field of sustainability and that I needed training to increase my potential earning power. I found an 8-month program that would take me in the direction I wanted to go.
Receiving the financial help from the fund not only allowed me to enroll in the program but gave me a vote of confidence that helped me take the plunge. The program was a real game-changer for me. Directly upon its completion, I was hired into an excellent position, that pays me well, gives me the flexibility I need as a single parent, and provides me opportunity to grow and learn professionally. You have inspired me to explore what I can do to help others who face challenges in their lives. I hope that this fund will grow and encourage others to act. Thank you.AK, Vancouver Island
The KEATCA Scholarship represents a wonderful opportunity for Canadian and International students whom wish to further their academics. I was fortunate to be a recipient of the scholarship this year, which will help me alleviate the cost of my graduate studies (MSc in Experimental Surgery) at McGill University. The monetary contribution has helped me achieve financial stability, which will allow me to fully dedicate and focus my time on my research full-time. Through my research, I look forward to making a contribution to the scientific community, and I
would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the KEATCA Foundation for their generous support in this endeavour.SSJ

I am so incredibly grateful for the passion that inspires Melinda and Ramesh to provide educational opportunity to those seeking a higher quality of living through education. It is their kindness and understanding that enable others to reach beyond their limitations and pursue their academic achievements. Money should never get in the way of someone gaining knowledge and knowing the tremendous importance and value of a proper education, makes Keat Canada the empathetic force our country needs to excel. Thank you for sharing, believing and being the wonderful people, you are.CP
