The Bala & Ram Jakhu Grant

We are honoured to partner with the family and friends of Bala and Ram Jakhu and create a legacy grant to celebrate their life, work, and achievements. In 2017, KEATCA partnered with McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law to provide annual grants of up to $5,000 CAD. The institute, where Dr. Jakhu has spent a major part of his career, assists KEATCA in selecting the potential candidates.

Mrs. Brij Bala Jakhu worked hard for thirty-five years at the Royal Bank of Canada and supported her family, while her husband worked on his PhD. She volunteered teaching language, dance, drama and sports to young immigrant children. She was a board member of several community organizations in Montreal that helped integrate new immigrants to Canada. Bala is a loving wife and mother, and with her husband has raised two boys while she continues to work hard to better her community.
