Celebrating Maria D’Amico - Special Grant

Our friend Mario D’Amico is retiring this year from her position at McGill Air and Space Law Institute. She has put in a tremendous effort in getting KEATCA with its first award to honour Bala and Ram Jakhu. She made all incoming students of its availability, set us faculty and students to review all applications and worked closely to smooth any wrinkles. She managed our relationship with the university as well.

We are highly pleased to announce a special grant (based on requested amount) to honour her this year as an ardent supporter of KEATCA and promoting its mission. Students in universities other than McGill can apply for this grant.

Maria D’Amico joined McGill University in 1978 working under the umbrella of the Faculty of Law, and in 2009 was transferred full time to its Institute and Centre of Air and Space Law (ICASL). At the ICASL, Maria became the “heart and soul” and earned several awards and tributes in recognition of her endless dedication and contribution that spanned over the past four decades.

In 2017, KEATCA partnered with McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law where Maria took an instrumental role with KEATCA in selecting potential candidates for annual grants in recognition of its Bala and Ram Jakhu Grant.

Graduates, students , colleagues and friends speak fondly of their experience at the ICASL and Maria’s caring demeanour, warm smile and infectious laughter.
